María José Toro, 7 years old, along with her three brothers, also benefit from our program. Maria José is a very intelligent girl who lives with her mother, grandmother, and brothers. Her mother works as a machine operator, and her grandmother washes clothes for others.
They live in conditions of extreme scarcity and all sleep in the same room as they have to rent the house to get by. Their income barely reaches 5,000 lempiras (about 200 US dollars), so the inclusion of all the Toro siblings in our program has provided great relief to the family: the educational, nutritional, and social needs of the children are covered, and a future of new opportunities is being designed for them!
